KROSSFIRE – Learning to Fly

Really? Why? Which is the reason to release such an album? Usually I don’t want to be harsh with new bands that release their debut albums, but on the other hand when you have to listen to a monument on boredom like “Learning to Fly”, then it is very hard to say some good words about them.

The album is full of repetitions. Can you imagine the same heavy metal melodies mixed with the same rhythm section again and again? Also can you imagine keyboards that pass unnoticed because they really don’t have to add something to the composition? If yes, then you have a picture of how “Learning to Fly” sounds. If I have to say something positive is that the guys at least sound tight and know how to play their instruments, but if they want to call themselves composers then they really have a long road to walk on. Sometimes, I really ask myself how such bands find a contract and some really talented ones out there are still searching. If you like progressive power metal, then this album is not for you. I wouldn’t buy it even if it was on half price… The guys really need to work more on their compositions, if they really want to be noticed. So enough said, let’s go to the next release…
