Birmingham, a town of the United Kingdom might have given birth to heavy metal music, but this music soon became a worldwide phenomenon.
Heavy metal bands popped out from every corner of the world, even from places that you can’t imagine. KRYPTOS are such an example, since they come from India. This is their third studio album, but the first one that gets a world wide release from a quite strong European metal label. All these indicate that KRYPTOS have a sound that is worth to be noticed and spread outside the boundaries of their own country. By listening to their new release I have to admit that the band really deserves our attention, especially from people that like the traditional heavy metal sound. Actually the music of KRYPTOS has elements that come from many different styles of heavy metal, but the result sounds very coherent and solid. The basis upon which they build their sound is 80’s heavy metal, but they also have references to the thrash metal music and good old Swedish melodic death metal scene. Also I have to underline that the vocals of Nolan Lewis (vocals/guitar) reminded me a lot of Mille Petrozza (KREATOR). This is an element that gives a rough edge to the sound of the band. So, if you like traditional heavy metal mixed with thrash while also having some modern touches, then you won’t be disappointed by this release. To tell you the truth I liked them a lot and I think that they have a fresh sound that lacks from most of traditional metal bands in our days.
